Thanks to a grant written by Mrs. B, we were able to observe and take care of caterpillars in our classroom again this year. Each student was given their own baby caterpillar to take care of throughout their life cycle. We observed our caterpillar's grow, form a chrysalis, and emerge as butterflies over the course of a few weeks.
Before releasing our butterflies in nature, we released them in a big tent first and were given the chance to hang out with them outside. The whole process was a great learning opportunity for our students and a hands-on experience they are not likely to forget anytime soon!
